- Ethiopia 1(2)-(3)1 Eritrea
- Uganda 1-0 DR Congo
Uganda Kobs beat the Democratic Republic of Congo to pick their first win at the ongoing CECAFA U-23 Challenge Cup.
Najib Yiga’s goal at the stroke of halftime was the difference as Uganda and DR Congo faced-off for the second time at the tournament.
The two sides had played to a goalless draw in the opening Group A tie nearly a fortnight ago.
The Kobs were later held to a one-all draw by Tanzania to fall short of qualifying for the semifinals.
Uganda will now face Eritrea who beat hosts Ethiopia 3-2 in shootouts in a fifth-place playoff.
Ethiopia will battle DR Congo in a seventh-place playoff.
