URA FC put up a spirited fight but bowed out of the CAF Confederation Cup at the second round stage of the competition after falling one-nil to Al Masry.

Having played to a goalless draw last Saturday, it was a huge mountain to climb for the Tax Collectors in the return leg at Alexandria Stadium.

However, the return of skipper Shafik Kagimu, Saidi Kyeyune, and Steven Mukwala made URA FC put out a strong team to challenge the Egyptians.

Islam Attiya scored the only goal of the end-to-end game to eliminate the Ugandan representatives on Saturday evening. It was a goal scored against the run of play when left-back Derrick Ndahiro was caught in possession before Attiya curled past Alionzi Nafian in the 21st minute of the game.

Kagimu, Cromwell Rwothomio came close for the visitors.

At the other end, Al Masry could have been awarded a penalty after Benjamin Nyakoojo appeared to have tripped Austin Amutu in the area while Christian Emeka Eze rattled the woodwork.

URA's defender Najib Fesali saw a red card at the stroke of full time for a second bookable offense.
