Eric Kambale scored the only game of the match as Express Football Club overcome Gaddafi Football Club at Muteesa II Stadium, Wankulukuku.
The forward rose highest to nod home Sadiq Ssekyembe's corner kick in the 40th minute.
The Red Eagles could have won the game with a bigger margin but were undone by the poor finishing.
Godfrey Lwesibawa and Charles Musiige were the culprits of porous finishing in a game that the hosts were in control for most of the duration.
While Gaddafi looked solid at the back, the never really troubled Express going forward.
Express' fifth win of the season moves them to 19 points after 11 games but remains in 5th place after Wakiso Giants earned a point away in Mbarara.
Gaddafi, on the other hand, suffered their fourth defeat of the season and remain on 13 points, and stays put in 10th place.
