  • Ghana 5-0 Uganda (Agg: 7)
Uganda’s FIFA U20 Women's World Cup dream came to an end following a 5-0 defeat to Ghana on Saturday in the return leg of the fourth round of the African Qualifiers at the Cape Coast Stadium. The result took Ghana's aggregate score to 7-1, having won the first leg 2-1 at St. Mary's Stadium - Kitende last month. Doris Boaduwa netted a brace while Evelyn Badu, Abdulai Salamatu, and Rahama Jafara scored a goal each for Ghana who will meet Ethiopia at the ultimate stage. Uganda took charge of the opening 20 minutes but could capitalize as later Ghana found their rhythm and dominated the match. Shamira Nalugya saw her freekick at the edge of the box rattle the woodwork while Juliet Nalukenge also came close. In the 23rd minute, the hosts took the lead through Badu who slid with a tap in the opener. In a space of two minutes, unmarked Abdulai doubled the lead off Doris Boaduwaa brilliant pass. Daphine Nyayenga, who was between the sticks for Uganda, came to rescue for the visitors when she denied yet an unmarked Abdulai. Nyayenga, however, made a howler under pressure from Boaduwaa but she was denied by the woodwork. After the break,  Nalukenge was denied by the crossbar while Shakirah Nyinagahirwa forced a save from Cynthia Konlan in Ghana's goal. Jafaru made it three for Ghana before a quick brace from Boaduwaa one which came from the spot following Bira Nadunga’s handball in the forbidden area.
