Friday Results

  • Uganda Martyrs 2-2 She Corporate
  • Kawempe Muslim 3-4 Kampala Queens
  • She Maroons 1-0 Lady Doves

Uganda Martyrs Lubaga and She Corporate played to a two-all draw on Friday in a FUFA Women Super League encounter played at Lubaga.

Catherine Nagadya’s late penalty kick rescued a point for Uganda Martyrs against table leaders.

Kevin Nakacwa had given Martyrs the lead in the 20th minute but goals from Susan Atim and Phiona Nabumba had pegged them back to a trailing position

In the evenly contested encounter that saw few chances, Uganda Martyrs had the first say when Nakacwa beat goalkeeper Daphine Nyayenga at the far post to hand hosts the lead in the 20th minute.

Ten minutes later, Atim restored parity when she tapped in Regina Nantege’s teasing cross.

Five minutes to halftime, Shamusa Nalujja would have restored Martyrs’ lead but her close effort off Anitah Namata’s corner was saved by Nyayenga to end the first half level.

In the 58th minute, the visitors utilized their only chance when Naume Nagadya’s through ball caught Martyrs’ defence off guard to meet running Nabbumba who made no mistake and put the visitors in the lead.

At the death, Nagadya leveled matters from a penalty following Swabula Nkomba’s foul on Latifah Nakasi in the area.

She Corporate maintain the top status but the points gap was reduced to two points following Kampala Queens' win against Kawempe. Uganda Martyrs dropped to third place.
