Uganda Cranes have begun residential training ahead of the 2022 African Nations Championship Qualifiers.
According to a statement released by the Federation's social media, the team re-grouped and will be staying at Cranes Paradise Hotel in Kisaasi.
"The team entered camp at Cranes Paradise Hotel, Kisasi, and had a training session at Kampala Quality Primary School," read a message from their Twitter handle.
About three days ago, the head coach Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic named a provisional squad of 40 players to embark on preparations.
The team comprised of five goalkeepers, fifteen defenders, eight midfielders, and twelve forwards.
Breakdown of preparations
25th July – Players reporting to camp.
25th July -15th August – Working on Fitness of players.
15th – 25th August – Match situation with practice games
27th August – 3rd September – Playing against either Somalia/Tanzania home and away
The winner between Somalia and Tanzania will host Uganda between the 26th -29th of August.
The return leg will be played at St. Mary’s Stadium, Kitende with the winner on aggregate qualifying for the final tournament slated for January in Algeria.
