The draws for the 24th edition of the NSSF-KAVC International Volleyball tournament have been conducted.

The tournament serves off tomorrow at Lugogo and will be climaxing on Sunday in the MTN Arena.

The tournament returns after a two-year wait due to COVID-19.

The Men’s tournament will have a new winner after 2019 champions Homegrown from Kenya who beat Rukinzo (Rwanda) failed to make the trip to Uganda.

Nkumba who beat Ndejje University to claim the Women’s crown will be hoping to defend their title.

The tournament has attracted several foreign teams – eight in Men and two in the Women's Division.

From Thursday’s Technical meeting, defending champions Nkumba have been pitted in Pool A and will be hoping to finish among the top two to reach the semis.

The Men’s category has attracted 16 teams that have been put into four groups of four each.

  • Pool B – APR (Rwanda), OBB (Uganda), COBAP (Uganda), Ndejje (Uganda), KCCA (Uganda)

Men

  • Pool A – Buni (Burundi), Juba (South Sudan), APR (Rwanda), KAVC-A (Uganda)
  • Pool B – Kagera-Bukoba (Tanzania), Sky (Uganda), Elyon (Uganda), REG (Rwanda)
  • Pool C – KCCA (Uganda), COBRA (South Sudan), OBB (Uganda), Kagera-Mutukula (Tanzania)
  • Pool D – KAVC-B (Uganda), Police (Uganda), Prisons (Uganda), Rukinzo
