Maroons announced their return to the StarTimes Uganda Premier League with a five-star performance against Busoga United.

The Uganda Prisons side beat Busoga five-nil with Fred Amaku scoring a double. Solomon Walusimbi, Noel Nasasira, and Isaac Mpagi scored the other goals.

It was Maroons' first win against Busoga United in seven meetings and also the biggest defeat for the visitors on the opening day of the season since they gained promotion to the top flight.

In Lira, Blacks Power received a rude welcome to the league as they were at the end of another five-nil beating at the hands of BUL Football Club.

Karim Ndugwa and Richard Wandyaka scored a double each and Jerome Kirya got the other for the Eastern Giants who were rampant at the John Akibua Stadium.

BUL and Maroons are top of the log.

Next Up

Blacks Power visits Busoga United on Wednesday while BUL hosts UPDF next Saturday. Meanwhile, Maroons will visit Bright Star in their next fixture on Tuesday.
