Blacks Power FC registered their second win of the season following their 1-0 victory over UPDF at the Aki Bua Stadium in Lira on Tuesday. Skipper Ivan Okello scored the all-important goal with 18 minutes to play to ensure that his side bagged maximum points at home. It was the first home win and second in the season for Blacks Power, who have endured a torrid start in their maiden season in the Uganda premier League. It was Head coach Hussein Mbalangu's first win ever since joining the side earlier in the season. UPDF, on the other hand, suffered their sixth loss of the season. After a goalless scoreline at halftime, Blacks Power returned from recess the better side as they launched various attacks for the opener. They came closer through Siwu Michael and Bronson Nsubuga but were all denied. The endless efforts finally paid off in the 72nd minute when Okello rose highest to head in home past UPDF goalkeeper Mabuya, sending the home fans into wild celebrations. The win, the first for Blacks Power at home, saw them move to 8 points and are now in the 12th position after nine games. (W2, D2, L5). Meanwhile the Army side, their winless streak extended to five games and they dropped to 13th position with only 6 points collected from ten games. Next Up Blacks Power will visit URA on Friday 2nd December at Nakisunga Ssaza grounds. For UPDF, they will be back to action on 6th December as they host URA at Bombo Military Grounds.
