Uganda Cranes have beaten Senegal one-nil in a Group B match of the Championship of African Nations (CHAN). Team captain Milton Karisa scored the all-important and solitary goal of the match that earned the Cranes maximum points in the 33rd minute. Karisa, unmarked at the far post, tapped home Kenneth Ssemakula's long ball into the area and the strike turned out the match-winner. Goalkeeper Alionzi Nafian had earlier kept out Cheikh Sidibe's penalty in the 25th minute. Senegal finished the match a man down after Libasse was given marching orders with seven minutes to the end of regulation time. Uganda Cranes' win came on the night MTN Uganda announced their return as the team's main sponsors for the next five years in a deal worth 19 billion that saw them take over the sponsorship of five other Fufa assets. Uganda is now on 4 points, Senegal (3), DR Congo (2) and the Ivory Coast has a point. The Cranes face Ivory Coast in their last group game on Sunday, 22nd January and need just a draw to advance to the knockout round of the competition. https://twitter.com/OfficialFUFA/status/1615890619703894018 Uganda Cranes XI: Alionzi Nafian (GK), James Begisa, Derrick Ndahiro, Gift Fred, Kenneth Ssemakula, Geoffrey Wasswa, Marvin Youngman, Moses Waiswa, Frank Ssebuufu, Rogers Mato, Milton Karisa
