MTN Uganda has continued to become the ultimate home of Sports in Uganda by taking on the coveted brand of Uganda Cranes. The entity is followed by millions of passionate Ugandans and MTN Uganda will now sink 19 billion shillings in the entity alongside 6 other properties of FUFA. The Crested Cranes (National women’s team), The FUFA Drum, The FUFA Juniors League, The FUFA Super 8, the FUFA Super Cup, and the FUFA Awards complete the set. "I am excited on behalf of MTN Uganda to officially announce that we are bringing back the game to Ugandans, who are the most passionate fans of our football. Let's go Uganda Cranes," MTN Uganda CEO Sylvia Mulinge said. https://twitter.com/mtnug/status/1615791226376142854 The development was announced at Serena Hotel where a section of invited guests including Crested Cranes players gathered for a watch party in Katonga Hall. FUFA President Moses Magogo and other dignitaries were present and graced the occasion that had Uganda register a one-nil win over Senegal in the CHAN 2022 Championships currently going on in Algeria. Captain Milton Karisa found the back of the net as Uganda Cranes welcomed its most loyal sponsor over the years, MTN Uganda. "MTN Uganda has enthusiastically supported Uganda’s football over the years. Together with FUFA and other stakeholders, we have registered so many wins and with them, great memories," MTN Uganda Chief Marketing Officer Somdev Sen said. https://twitter.com/mtnug/status/1615794463049191437 He added; "It is therefore exciting to have this partnership and our game back with our passionate fans. We look forward to doing even more together." Magogo was appreciative of the support from MTN towards FUFA activities. "Thank you MTN Uganda for the great support. "This sponsorship package will go a long way in addressing the multiple challenges faced by the federation. It will also push the country towards its ambition of qualifying for this year’s Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) and 2026 FIFA World Cup among other targeted milestones." https://twitter.com/fufatv1/status/1615777938594480144
