Uganda Cranes head coach Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic has revealed the 23-man squad that will be travelling to Cameroon. Uganda Cranes will face Algeria in the second last 2023 Africa Cup of Nations Qualifiers at Japoma Stadium, Douala on Sunday, June 18. The 23-man squad was trimmed from the 42-man provisional team that spent ten days of residential training in Kampala. Among the notable drops are foreign-based players Moses Opondo, Musa Ramathan, Allan Enyou, Juma Ibrahim and Isma Watenga. Allan Okello, Bright Anukani and Hillary Mukundane also had quite a brilliant show on the local scene but that was not enough to earn them the cut on the final sheet. The squad is made up of three custodians, eight defenders, five midfielders and seven goal-poachers. The team will fly out of the country to Cameroon on Friday Morning (2:45 am). While in Cameroon, the team will play a practice match against DRC Congo on Wednesday, June 14. Uganda sits third on the Group F log with four points levelled with Tanzania. Algeria sits on the summit of the log with 12 points.
