Uganda Premier League side URA Football Club has confirmed Rodgers Omedwa as their second goalkeeper.

The lanky custodian has been awarded a two-year contract that will keep him serving the Tax collectors’ camp until 2025.

During an interview with the URA FC media, the custodian hardly hides his excitement upon the transfer.

“I am glad to be here and ready to prove my worth. I thank the club management for the trust they put in me. URA FC is a big club and playing here comes with a lot of responsibilities which am aware of,” Omedwa was quoted by the club’s website.

“I know there is a lot of competition here but I will work hard to ensure I help the club achieve its goals each time I get the chance to play,” he added

Omedwa will join the Tax Collectors from Arua Hill SC. While in Arua he played 22 games and managed to keep 12 clean sheets while in the earlier campaign, he kept 13 clean sheets in 24 games while at Busoga United.

Omedwa becomes the second custodian to join URA FC in the ongoing transfer window after the arrival of Denis Otim who arrived from Express.

The two are set to replace the club’s former captain Allionzi Nafian and Hannington Ssebwalunyo who are on their way out of the club.

URA FC is also in talks with James Alitho to agree upon a contract renewal.
