- SC Villa 2-1 Maroons
BUL FC squeezed a 1-0 victory against Vipers SC in the FUFA Super 8 quarterfinals at FUFA Technical Centre, Njeru on Thursday.
Samuel Ssekamatte’s second-half strike from the spot was the difference between the two sides on the day.
In the 19th minute, Fumador Asiwome placed the ball into the net but the joy was short-lived since it was cancelled sighting an offside.
David Bagoole’s rebound landed onto Milton Karisa’s feet but the captain’s resultant effort went direct into Tom Ikara’s hands.
Samuel Ssekamatte came close through powerful efforts from a distance but his anticipation hardly paid off in the first stanza.
At the start of the second half, Vipers' coach Leonard Neiva introduced Rodriguez Giancarlo and Karim Watambala for Asiwome and Bagoole.
In the 47th minute, Livingstone Mulondo fouled Reagan Kalyowa in the dangerous area and BUL FC were given a penalty.
Ssekamatte stepped up and converted from the spot to give the hosts the lead.
Six minutes later BUL forced Mutombora into a double save denying Kalyowa and Martin Aprem from close range.
Vipers made another change bringing on Abdul Lumala to replace Siraje Sentamu as they searched for an equaliser.

BUL’s victory takes them into the semifinals of the ongoing tournament while Vipers will play Maroons FC in the classification games.
