City Oilers are through to the National Basketball League Playoff Finals for the ninth year running.

The eight-time champions swept Our Savior 3-0 in the best-of-five semifinal following a 76-51 triumph in Game 3 on Sunday.

It was shooting guard Ivan Muhwezi who led the way for the Oilers at YMCA in Wandegeya with a game-high 18 points.

Ruak Ruai also scored 18 points and picked 8 rebounds in a game the champions dominated from start to finish. Former captain Jimmy Enabu added 15 points.

Oilers led 15-12 at the end of the first quarter and by halftime, the writing was on the wall as the lead had ballooned to 11 points (34-23).

While Our Savior competed in the third quarter, they barely competed in the final quarter as the Oilers ran away to a 25-point victory.

Kenneth Mesho scored 9 points to lead Our Savior who were making the semifinals for the first time. Davis Asiimwe and Henry Ssebagala contributed 7 points each.

City Oilers will be aiming to win an unprecedented ninth consecutive title when they take on KIU Titans. The two sides last met in the 2018 finals.
