- Bulemeezi 0(4)-0(2) Mawokota (Agg 2-1)
Gomba is set to play Bulemeezi in the final of the 2023 Buganda Masaza Cup on Saturday, October 28.
The duo confirmed its spots in the final after winning the two-legged semifinal affair.
Gomba Lions beat Buddu 1-0 in a tight contest at Masaka Recreation Stadium on Monday.
In a game that was highly attended, both sides struggled to find the target and hence fired blanks in the first 45 minutes.
Just as the second stanza got underway, Kenneth Kimera gave Gomba the lead through a well-weighed effort that silenced the home crowd and sent the visitors ablaze.
The victory meant Gomba beat Buddu home and away to send a warning to Bulemeezi. Gomba has so far lifted five titles in 2004, 2009, 2017, and later 2020.
On the other hand, Bulemeezi manoeuvred past Mawokota thanks to a successful penalty shootout.
The two sides played to a goalless draw at Kasana Playground, Luwero on Monday.
Bulemeezi went on to register a 4-2 victory from the post-match penalties to ascend to the finals.
This was the second time in the ongoing tournament that Bulemeezi was going to the next level thanks to penalties.
After clinching the title in 2012 and 2019, Bulemeezi will be on a hurt for the third cup.
