Uganda Premier League | Wednesday Results

Mbarara City FC secured a 2-1 victory against KCCA FC in the Uganda Premier League at Kakyeka Stadium in Mbarara on Wednesday.

It was the seventh loss for the Kasasiro Boys in the ongoing campaign but also the fourth away from home.

It was a tough start for the visitors who found it hard to play their free-flowing passes due to the unplayable ground.

Two minutes off the clock, Dominic Ayella and Emmanuel Loki were introduced to replace Ettiene Katenga and Gui Cungulo.

Ashraf Mugume shot KCCA into the lead through a well-curled freekick in the 35th minute of the game.

Sadat Nsubuga restored parity a minute later with a powerful low drive past KCCA goalkeeper Anthony Emojong.

KCCA tried to drop several long balls into the area in search of Muhammad Shaban but Mbarara's backline stood tall to keep the score intact.

Henry Kitegenyi finally gave the hosts the lead in the 63rd minute after KCCA defenders slept on the job.

After the victory, Mbarara moved to 10th position on the log with 11 points while KCCA is 14th on seven points.

Next on the menu, Mbarara will visit UPDF on Monday, December 11 while KCCA will host Bright Stars on the same day.
