  • Vipers 0-0 Gaddafi
  • Maroons 0-0 Wakiso Giants

Vipers and Gaddafi played to a goalless stalemate in the Uganda Premier League at St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende.

The hosts got several chances in front of goal but failed to convert thus dropping two points.

Allan Okello and Bright Anukani combined in a switch interplay before the latter’s low drive bounced off the right goalpost in the sixth minute.

Okello’s goal-bound effort was cleared off the line by Douglas Bithum. The clearance rattled off the frame before being cleared away.

Vipers faced a setback after Ashraf Mandela was lifted off in the 30th minute due to an injury. He was later replaced by Grant Matsiko.

Vipers made a second chance after Karim Watambala replaced Milton Karisa in the 50th minute.

Ten minutes into the second half, Eric Kambale’s header off Okello’s in-swinger went narrowly wide of the frame.

Gaddafi grew in potential and confidence and started trying their chances. Sharifu Ssengendo’s long rage effort went narrowly wide putting to waste a cut clear chance.

Livingstone Mbabazi later introduced Moses Waiswa, Fazil Tumwine and Abubakali Walusimbi replaced Anukani, Okello and Kambale.

Bashir Asiku tripped Walusimbi in the box but the centre referee waved away as Vipers’ players followed in disagreement.

The stalemate sent the Venoms to 31 points in the third position on the 15-team log while Gaddafi are 13th with 17 points.
