KCCA FC registered a 4-3 victory against Express FC in the Uganda Premier League encounter played at Muteesa II Stadium in Wankulukuku.
The seven-goal-thriller was such a dramatic game of football that was filled with a mixture of emotions as the Kasasiro Boys ran away with maximum points on the day.
Ettiene Katenga placed the visitors in the lead with less than a minute played. Ashraf Mugume latched onto a loose ball and watched in front of the goal before the Angolan forward guided the ball into the back of the net.
On-form Isaac Wagoina restored parity for the hosts with a great header in the 23rd minute thanks to Isma Kawawulo’s delivery.
Ten minutes later, KCCA’s backline failed to clear their lines before John Asiimwe’s deflected effort forced its way into the back of the net to give the home side the lead.
Once again, KCCA’s backline slept on the job easily losing possession to Express who punished them through Marvin Oshaba thus widening the host’s lead in the 37th minute.
Abdallah Mubiru introduced Peter Magambo, Usama Arafat, and Herbert Achai for Peter Lwasa, Emmanuel Ogwang, and Mustapha Kizza.
Shaban Muhammed regained KCCA’s hope five minutes into the second stanza with a header off Mugume’s delivery from the right flank.
After lots of hard work and ingenuity, Mugume was gifted a goal by Express goalkeeper Yunus Abubaker bringing the game to level.
With just a minute left on the clock, Arafat Usama’s late goal turned the tables as visitors dramatically bagged maximum points.
It's the second loss for Express who earlier fell to Mbarara in a 3-1 loss. KCCA lies ninth with 23 points, two below Express who are eighth.
