In a game played at Belle Vue, Mary Nuba Cholhok netted 52 goals of the 64 scored by Loughborough Lighting as they beat Manchester Thunder 64-52 in the Netball Super League.

Cholhok’s thrilling performance extends her scoring tally to 285 goals in the six games played thus far.

Coming into this duel, Thunder had picked five wins in five games but the defending champions Lighting ended their unbeaten run.

Thunder opened a one-goal lead at the end of the first quarter (15-14) before Lighting bounced back with a 17-goal advantage at the break.

Going into the final quarter, Lighting further extended their lead as Thunder briefly threatened to fight back though it was late to execute the comeback.

The victory means that both sides levelled on 15 points though Thunder is still locked on top of the log thanks to a superior goal difference.

Since setting foot in England, Cholhok has quickly found herself to be a natural scorer and also carrying the team on her shoulders.

Elsewhere, Peace Proscovia netted 24 goals in the game where Surrey Storm secured a 60-44 victory over Team Bath.

In the same duel, Hanisha Muhameed also staged a stunning show as a goalkeeper, a position she has owned since joining the club.

Surrey Storm are placed in the seventh position on a 10-team log with nine points in six games played.

With Netball on hold in the country, the professional netballers are flying the flag so high which continues to put a ray of brightness on the beautiful spot.
