UCU Lady Canons registered a 67-50 victory against Miracle Ravens in the National Basketball League at Lugogo Arena on Friday.

The Lady Canons started with a 5-0 run before they trailed by two points (13-15) at the end of the first quarter.

Miracle Ravens were limited to only seven points in the second quarter as the Lady Canons created a 15-point (37-22) lead going into the long break.

Coming from the locker rooms, the Ravens looked more pumped up but failed to tame the Lady Cardinals' speed on the floor thus trailing by 20 (55-35) in the third quarter.

The Ravens started the fourth quarter with a 10-0 run in the first four minutes of the game as they tried to route for a comeback.

However, Hajjara Najjuko's two long shots from outside the paint sucked the life out of Ravens' fighting side and the Lady Canons sealed a 17-point victory.

Despite securing the victory, the Lady Canons had a poor shooting day converting on 12 out of 46 attempts inside the paint and 12 out of 34 outside the area.

Najjuko led the top scoring for Lady Canons with 18 points before Shilah Lamunu and Bridget Aber dropped 11 points either.

Brenda Alyano dropped 18 points to lead Ravens while Lillian Cherotich added 10 points.
