Agnes Nabukenya scored a brace as Kawempe Muslim beat Masaka SS in the girls’ football final on Monday, April 1, 2024.

Kawempe Muslim was the better side right from the start but were so wasteful in front of goal.

As the first stanza neared an end, Nabukenya’s prowess came into play as she broke the deadlock with a thrilling finish.

Later on Masaka SS were on the wrong side of the law as the ball went off one of the defender’s hand while in the box.

But Nabukenya failed to convert from the 12-yard mark as her attempt went wide of the frame thus keeping Masaka SS’s hopes high.

However, Nabukenya redeemed her name as she doubled Kawempe’s lead with a long-range strike towards the final minute of the duel.

The victory guided Kawempe to the podium as they successfully defended their prestigious title.

Nabukenya was also named the top scorer of the tournament as she managed to bag 26 goals, 14 of which were scored during the 24-0 victory against debutants Kabukunge Muslim.
