Agile midfielder Hakim Mutebi was named the best footballer for March 2024 in the Real Stars Awards.

Mutebi received the accolade thanks to the thrilling performance staged in the All-African Games that were held in Ghana.

The ceremony was held today Tuesday, April 2 at Lazio Restaurant in Kololo.

Shortly after receiving the accolade, Mutebi revealed that the accolade pushed him to work harder.

“I am happy to receive this award, it gives me the courage to work more, it has been the first in my career,” Mutebi stated.

“I thank those who have trusted me, I thank FUFA for giving us the chance to play and expose our talents in different tournaments,” he added.

To get to the podium, Mutebi beat stiff competition from KCCA’s Usama Arafat and Kampala Queens’ Catherine Nagadya.

The Uganda Hippos clinched silver while the Queen Cranes bagged bronze in the recently concluded African Games.
