David Obua’s post era kicked off with a 2-0 victory as URA beat NEC in the Uganda Premier League encounter played at Kabaka Kyabaggu Stadium, Wakisha.
Ivan Ahimbisibwe scored a brace as the Tax Collectors secured a victory to end the poor run of three straight losses.
Ahimbisibwe placed URA in the lead in the seventh minute with a powerful effort from a tight angle. The hunter got his name on the scoresheet after his return from suspension.
At half an hour mark, the Tax Collectors were awarded a free kick in a great area after Joseph Semujju was fouled but the resultant effort yielded nothing.
At the start of the second stanza, NEC made a double change introducing Ramos Asiimwe and Ibrahim Thembo for Ibrahim Kiyemba and Gadaffi Wahab.
Ahimbisibwe doubled URA’s lead two minutes after the break to keep the hosts in a comfortable driving seat.
In the 70th minute, Vianne Ssekajjugo replaced Ssemujju as the Tax Collectors introduced fresh legs in the final third.
The victory lifts the Tax Collectors to the eighth position with 34 points while NEC are fifth 40 points in 24 games.
NEC will return to action on Wednesday April 24 as they take on BUL while URA take on Busoga United on Wednesday, May 1.
