Kitara secured a 2-1 victory against Express in the Uganda Premier League encounter at Muteesa II Stadium, Wankulukuku on Wednesday.

The victory guided the Royals to a double since they beat Express 1-0 in the first leg which happened at Masindi Municipal Stadium.

Living Kabon's corner kick went directly into the back of the net as Kitara secured maximum points on the day.

Denis Omedi gave the visitors a lead early in the 10th minute after being set up by Frank Tumwesigywe in a swift team counterattack.

Omedi came close twice but was not lethal enough to bury Kabon and Jude Ssemugabi's well-weighted deliveries.

Before the break, Isaac Wagoina was tripped in the area by Paddy Muhumuza before he later stood up to convert from the spot.

Kabon scored the winner directly from a corner kick deep in added time which was wildly celebrated.

Kitara ascended back on the log summit with 47 points while Express lay ninth on the log with 32 points.

Next on the menu, Kitara will host Mbarara on Tuesday, April 30 while Express host NEC on the same day.
