UCU Lady Canons secured a hard-fought 69-64 over Magic Stormers victory in the National Basketball League at Lugogo Indoor Arena on Wednesday.

The Mukono-based side held their nerves, thus surviving the Magic Stormers' surge in an end-to-end encounter.

The game saw the UCU Lady Canons take a 15-point lead (30-15) by the end of the first quarter.

By halftime, Lady Canons maintained a 10-point (42-32) lead. However, the Magic Stormers outscored Lady Canons 17-12 in the second quarter.

In the third quarter, the Lady Canons were limited to only nine points, while Magic Stormers dropped 16 points, thus trailing by three points (51-48).

Despite the strong fight, the Magic Stormers went down trailing by five points.

Both sides were poor beyond the arc. The Lady Canons missed 17 out of 23 chances while the Magic Stormers missed 17 out of 22 chances.

Christine Nakito was outstanding for the Magic Stormers, scoring a game-high 20 points and pulling down 16 points.

Shillah Lamunu Aber (12), Tracy Namugosa (11), and Hajara Najjuko (10) scored double digits for the UCU Lady Cardinals.
