Uganda Premier League side Kitara FC has signed left-back Douglas Oyirwoth in the ongoing transfer window.

Oyirwoth joins the Royals on a year-long contract that will keep him at the club until 2025.

The development was confirmed via the club's official website on Sunday, August 8, 2024.

"Kitara FC, the reigning Uganda Cup winners, have bolstered their squad with the signing of left-back Oyirwoth Douglas on a year-long contract," the statement partly reads.

Oyirwoth joins the Royals switching from the UPDF camp, where he spent four years playing for the Army side.

Oyirwoth reunites with Coach Brian Ssenyondo at Kitara, having previously worked together at UPDF, Mbarara City, and Synergy FC.

Douglas believes the expectations are high, but he hopes to settle and deliver at the new club.

"I am glad to be a player of Kitara FC. I know the expectations are high, but I also know my purpose here and hope to settle in well and deliver," he noted.
