FUFA Super 8 | Results

  • NEC 1-1 Vipers (1-1)
  • KCCA 3-3 Kitara (3-4)

Denis Omedi staged an outstanding performance as Kitara eliminated KCCA to advance to the semifinals of this year’s FUFA Super 8 tournament.

The two sides played to a 3-3 stalemate as Kitara secured their semifinal slot on a 4-3 aggregate at the end of the two-legged fixture.

Joel Sserunjogi fired the hosts ahead with a thrilling belter from a distance to beat Kitara custodian Crispus Kusiima in the ninth minute.

However, KCCA’s joy was short-lived as Omedi levelled matters through an exciting rabona kick that left the fans on their feet in amusement.

Jude Ssemugabi finally placed Kitara in the driving seat after 36 minutes after guiding home Omedi’s powerful delivery in front of goal.

At the end of the find stanza, the referee awarded KCCA a penalty after judging Ronald Otti to have fouled Etienne Katenga in the dangerous area.

Bright Anukani stepped up and sent Kitara’s custodian Kusiima the wrong way as he converted from the spot to level matters.

Ssemugabi once again found the back of the net thanks Omedi’d brilliant delivery from the left flank to give Kitara the deserving lead three minutes after recess.

KCCA returned to the game after finding an equaliser through Hassan Muhamood, who found the back of the net with a header.

Kitara will take on the winner between BUL and Maroons in the semi-final while KCCA will take on NEC in the classification games.
