Result: Kawempe Muslim 2-0 Simba WFC

Kawempe Muslim Ladies claimed the third position after edging out Tanzania's Simba in the classification game of the regional CAF Women Champions League qualifiers.

Kawempe Muslim registered a well-deserved 2-0 victory against Simba WFC in a thrilling encounter on Thursday evening.

Sumaya Nabuto and Agnes Nabukenya scored for Kawempe Muslim, but Simba hardly responded on the day.

The game started at a high pace as both sides looked to break the lock as early as possible without wasting any time.

Nabuto's strike found the back of the net in the 18th minute as she placed Kawempe Muslim in the driving seat.

Simba tried to force a quick equaliser but Kawempe's backline stood tall and firm amidst continuous attacks.

Nabukenya wasted a golden chance in the 34th minute as she failed to double Kawempe's lead with an empty net in front of her.

Five minutes into the second half, Nabukenya's wonder freekick from distance beat Simba's custodian to extend Kawempe's lead finally.

Kawempe missed out on the lonely ticket to the CAF Women Champions League but finishing third is a huge milestone for the youthful team made up of school-going girls.
