UPDF secured a hard-fought 1-0 victory against Lugazi in the Uganda Premier League at Bombo Military Grounds on Thursday.

Andrew Samson Kigozi scored the only goal to guide the Army side to maximum points on the day.

The maximum points take UPDF to four points in two games shortly after the one-all stalemate against Maroons.

On the other hand, Lugazi has lost both games in the campaign following a 3-0 loss against Kitara at home.

The hosts were in full control of the game from the first minute but were not lethal enough in the final third of the pitch.

Farid Rashid and Samuel Ssekamatte came close to finding the Army side's opener, but goalkeeper Fahad Emuran kept his goal area safe.

In the 78th minute, Kigozi finally found the back of the net after being set up by Hussein Zzinda's precise pass.

UPDF returns to action on Tuesday, September 24, as they play against NEC at MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo.

In the same breath, Lugazi will host Vipers in Najjembe on Thursday, September 22.
