Women Super League – Results

Kawempe Muslime secured a 3-0 victory against Rines SS in the Women Super League at Kawempe Valley Grounds on Sunday evening.

Agnes Nabukenya scored a hat trick as the hosts secured maximum points to kick-start a run to defend their title.

It was a brilliant display from the forward who scored on either side of the pitch to cement her name as a prolific forward.

Nabukenya broke the deadlock in the 33^rd minute after converting from the 12-yard mark. Kawempe were awarded a penalty after Phiona Nabulime was fouled in the dangerous area.

Just before the break, Nabukenya doubled Kawempe’s lead with a fine finish as the Rines were sent to the break trailing by two goals.

In the 57^th minute, Sophia Nakiyingi came close to pulling back one but failed to convert quite an open opportunity.

Nabukenya later completed her hat trick later in the second half as she grabbed the game ball and the player of the match award.

The victory takes Kawempe Muslim on top of the log with three points and as many goals at the end of match day one.
