Uganda’s City Oilers secured their place in the Basketball Africa League (BAL) semifinals with a decisive 93-73 victory over Matero Magic at the Nyayo Stadium in Nairobi, Kenya.
The first quarter was a tight affair, with the Oilers holding a narrow three-point lead (18-15).
Despite the absence of Germaine Roebuck Jr, who was sidelined due to injury, the Oilers maintained an eight-point advantage (41-33) at halftime.
The Oilers dominated the third quarter, extending their lead to 16 points (68-52).
They continued their strong performance in the final quarter, ultimately securing a 20-point victory.
Parish Petty led the Oilers’ scoring with 25 points.
Falando Jones (16 points), Moses Maker (13 points), Israel Oyoro Otobo (13 points), and Ivan Muhwezi (12 points) also contributed significantly to the win.
Saul Phiri (20 points) and Donovan Lamont Jose (19 points) were the top scorers for Matero Magic.
The Oilers will conclude their group-stage campaign with a match against Burundi’s Urunani on Saturday.
