Uganda Christian University (UCU) Lady Doves registered two victories on the opening day of the East Africa University Games at Maseno University in Kenya.

The Lady Doves first registered an easy-earned 3-0 walkover victory against Kyambogo University, who did not turn up for the encounter.

In the second test of the day, they went on to thrash Kenya College of Accounting (KCA) University 3-0 in a one-sided encounter.

The Mukono-based side secured the first set with a comfortable 13-point lead (25-12), which set the game's tone.

Despite the Kenyan institution's improvement in the second set, they only managed to curb the deficit to seven points (25-17).

It was one-way traffic in the final set as the Lady Doves limited KCA University to only nine points.

Despite several changes in the team during the final set, Lady Doves managed to run over KCA smoothly.

The Mukono-based side is focused on clinching the tournament's volleyball title.

UCU Lady Doves are the reigning champions of the Uganda University Games.
