Isaac Wagoina's double secured BUL FC's fourth victory of the season as they edged Lugazi FC 2-1 in a Uganda Premier League encounter at Lugazi Stadium, Najjembe, on Friday.

Wagoina opened the scoring in the 22nd minute, pouncing on a rebound from Ibrahim Orit’s powerful effort after the hosts failed to clear their lines.

However, Lugazi responded swiftly, with Abdul Kalanzi levelling the score following a mix-up between BUL’s defence and goalkeeper, as neither took decisive action to clear the ball.

The hosts dominated possession in the first half but lacked sharpness in the final third, failing to capitalize on their attacking play.

BUL nearly regained the lead when Ibrahim Orit came close, but luck was not on his side.

Deep into stoppage time, Wagoina sealed the victory, tapping into an empty net after Lugazi’s poor defensive positioning from a set piece cost them at least a point.

The win lifts BUL to seventh place with 19 points, while Lugazi remains 13th with 13 points.
