Uganda Premier League side Lugazi has signed defender Joseph Othieno on a three-year employment.

Othieno has joined the Leaders switching from Burundian Moso Sugar FC ahead of the UPL second round.

Othieno becomes the third signing of Lugazi following the arrival of Hussein Ssenoga and Shafiq Avemah.

"I was born and grew up in Lugazi I think it is the right time to come back home and pick up myself," the club's website quoted Othieno.

"I believe if one works hard, he achieves and I am here to exactly do that," he added.

Othieno has had great growth in his football career after helping Buddo SS win the national championship in 2009 and captaining Buwekula to the 2012 Masaza Cup finals.

He has also played for Victoria University, Kira Young, UPDF FC, Ndejje University, Musongati FC and Buja City.

Lugazi FC lies in 13th position with 14 points after 15 games of the UPL first round.
