Bright Stars secured a crucial point in their Uganda Premier League clash against Maroons, holding them to a 1-1 draw at the Prison Grounds in Luzira on Wednesday.

Desperate to escape the relegation zone, Bright Stars fought hard throughout the match.

Maroons took the lead ten minutes into the second half when Felix Okot broke the deadlock, injecting intensity into the game.

However, an error by goalkeeper Simon Tamale in the 80th minute proved costly.

He fumbled with Paskali Oketcho’s delivery, allowing Bright Stars to capitalize and score the equalizer.

With this result, Bright Stars remain in 15th place with 11 points, while Maroons sit in seventh position with 23 points after 16 games.
