Kitara secured a well-deserved 2-0 victory against Bright Stars in the Uganda Premier League encounter at Royal Park, Butema on Monday.

Kabon Living put the hosts ahead in the 23rd minute, guiding the ball into the net with a simple touch.

Frank Tumwesigye's corner kick caused chaos in the Bright Stars' defense, with goalkeeper Shamulan Kamya being outmuscled and dropping the ball for Kabon to score.

Despite creating numerous chances, Kitara's forwards lacked sharpness in front of goal, much to the frustration of the loud home crowd.

Kitara made several substitutions, bringing on fresh legs in midfield.

Defender Alex Mandela came close to doubling the lead in the 70th minute with a header that went narrowly wide.

With ten minutes remaining, Benjamin Nyakojo almost gifted Bright Stars an equalizer, but goalkeeper Chrispus Kusiima made a crucial save to preserve Kitara's lead.

Patrick Kaddu sealed the victory for Kitara in the 82nd minute with a delightful volley into the corner of the net.

This win lifts Kitara into fifth position with 25 points, while Bright Stars remain in 15th place with 11 points from 17 games.
