Uganda Cup: Maroons knock out Wakiso Giants to reach Last 16

Maroons have advanced to the Round of 16 in the ongoing Uganda Cup after eliminating Wakiso Giants in a tense penalty shootout at Prison Grounds, Luzira.
The match ended in a goalless draw despite both teams creating clear-cut chances. In the end, Maroons secured a 4-2 victory in the shootout.
Wakiso Giants faced a tough setback when defender Ambrose Arinda received a red card following a foul on Baden Mujahid Ogama.
During the shootout, Maroons' goals came from Hassan Ssenyonjo, Rahmat Ssenfuka, Fredrick Kigozi, and Edward Kabona, while Blanchar Mulamba missed his attempt.
For Wakiso Giants, Brian Jr Omirambe and Rogers Kiwanuka converted their penalties, but it wasn’t enough to keep them in the competition.
With this victory, Maroons progress to the next stage, keeping their Uganda Cup hopes alive.
