The 2025 East Africa Local Authorities Cultural Association (EALASCA) Games concluded on Friday at Hamz Stadium, Nakivubo, with Kenya emerging as the dominant force.

Kenyan teams claimed multiple trophies across various disciplines, including football, athletics, tug-of-war, darts, pool, Scrabble, and the folk song and dance competition.

Uganda, the host nation, secured two trophies in netball and volleyball, putting up a respectable performance.

Rev. Canon Dr. Duncas Mugumya commended all participants for their sportsmanship and the spirit of unity displayed throughout the games.

"I thank all the players who took part in these games. At the Ministry of Education and Sports, we aim to develop a well-rounded individual," he stated.

He also praised the Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) for its hospitality in accommodating visitors from various cities across the region.

"It brings us great joy to host such a large number of participants. We appreciate KCCA for welcoming and taking care of all our visitors," he added.

In the final match of the tournament, Kenya’s KICOSA edged out KCCA (Uganda) 2-1 to win the men's football title.
