Police FC eliminated Maroons FC from the ongoing FUFA Uganda Cup after securing a narrow 1-0 victory at Prison Grounds, Luzira.
The match started at a high tempo, with both teams eager to take control.
Police struck early when Denis Kalanzi capitalized on a defensive lapse in the ninth minute, slotting home a rebound after Maroons failed to clear their lines.
Despite going behind, Maroons responded with relentless pressure, keeping Police on the back foot.
Ivan Asaba and Rogers Kiwanuka orchestrated several attacks, but the resolute defence of Adewale Bojo and Daniel Jakony kept them at bay.
Police head coach Simon Peter Mugerwa expressed his delight with the performance and praised his team's defensive solidity.
"We are happy to win the game in the manner we did. The boys played well, and I congratulate them on the victory," Mugerwa said.
"Keeping a clean sheet is a big positive for us, and we hope to carry this momentum into the league as we prepare for upcoming matches," he added.
