Express Football Club progressed to the Round of 32 of the Stanbic Uganda Cup after beating Kajjansi United 2-1 at. Uganda Clays Grounds on Sunday. Winger Joseph Akandwanaho was on target for the Red Eagles to add to Joseph Kizito's own goal while Brian Muwayira's late goal for the hosts turned out a consolation. The Red Eagles could have won comfortably but were lethargic in front of goal fluffing a number of chance top of which was Marvin Oshaba's header that hit the post. Express lived dangerously in the closing stages of the game but managed to hang for victory and progress to the next round of the knockout tournament. “We never took this game for granted because we know how tricky Kajjansi United is and I am pleased that we are through to the Round of 32,” a relieved Express head coach James Odoch said in the aftermath. Meanwhile, West Nile-based Uganda Premier LLeague side Arua Hill suffered an early exit after falling to Northern Regional League side Elite FC. Normal time of the clash at Lira Integrated School ended in a one-all draw before the Regional League side won the shootout 2-1. Western Regional League side Bushenyi Veterans held another Premier League side UPDF to a 0-0 draw at Bushenyi Stadium but the army side won the shootout 4-1. Results | Sunday, 5th February
