Uganda will host the 2023 Netball Africa Cup this coming November in Kampala. The development was confirmed by the continental netball governing body, Africa Netball on Thursday, April 6, 2023. This will be the 13th edition of the Africa Netball Cup and the first of its kind Africa Netball men’s netball cup. In a letter to the Uganda Netball Federation (UNF), the East African country has been granted the hosting rights. “Africa Netball is pleased to given Uganda Netball Federation the hosting rights upon confirmation that all the hosting requirements will be in place before and during the tournament to allow the smooth running of both competitions.”  An extract from the letter authorized by the president Cecilia Molokwane reads. Uganda has been tasked to prepare standard playing venues (an indoor facility with a sprung floor), meeting venues, accommodation facilities for teams, match officials, Africa Netball executive committee members and World Netball staff, inland transport for umpires, UAP, UN staff, Africa Netball board, medical, security, volunteers, team liaison officers and others. In a related development, Africa Netball will conduct an ACOF training that will be facilitated by the UAP’s, train umpires (with Africa C’s and B’s). Uganda Netball Federation has stated that the tournament will be held in November with the exact dates yet to be confirmed. Uganda has several options of venues as the MTN Lugogo Indoor Arena, Makerere Netball courts, Kamwokya and the Africa Bible University in Lubowa, along Entebbe road. Uganda Netball Federation led by Sarah Babirye Kityo has embarked on the preparations for a tranquil tournament. "We have started preparations to have a successful tournament. We shall come up with a strong local organizing committee as we seek for sponsors to secure enough funds" Kityo revealed. In 2022, Uganda hosted the East and Central clubs’ championship at Kamwokya.
