  • HT: Uganda 0-1 Algeria

It's halftime at Japoma Stadium in Doula, Cameroon in the Africa Cup of Nations Qualifiers match between Uganda Cranes and Algeria.

The match that has been played at a relatively high tempo is in favour of Algeria but the Cranes have shown intent in the forty-five minutes.

The Cranes played the half with a lot of urgency not allowing the North Africans time in possession and also tried to play a quick ball up front for Okwi, Karisa and Mato to chase.

In the 21st minute, Gift Fred intercepted a loose pass and found Milton Karisa out wide and the winger whipped in a ground ball for Farouk Miya who had a weak shot across the goal but couldn't reach Mato.

Aziz Kayondo was the busiest Cranes defender but was up to the task as the Desert Foxes attacked mainly through their right wing.

With ten minutes to halftime, Okwi raced on another loose ball and played Mato through but the KCCA man's square pass for Miya was poorly met for a goal kick.

Miya forced a save out of Madrea with a volley off Kenneth Ssemakula's superb cross in the 38th minute but four minutes later, goalkeeper Jamal Salim gifted Algeria the lead.

A poor clearance from Jamal Salim was intercepted by Himad Abdelli who fired a shot that the Cranes goalie fumbled into the path of Mohammed Amoura to strike the Algerians in the lead.
