Uganda Premier League side URA FC has entered a two-year partnership with Andy Mwesigwa Comprehensive High School in Wakiso.

The announcement was made public on Monday, January 15, 2024 via the club’s official website.

“In our ongoing pursuit of fostering talent for sustainable development, we have solidified a two-year partnership with Andy Mwesigwa Comprehensive High School,” reads the statement.

“The school is set to become our official Junior team, serving as a feeder to the senior team,” it went on.

The collaboration looks at both boys and girls' teams, promoting gender and also creating a nursery bed for the growth of a women’s team.

The school is owned by former Uganda Cranes captain, Andy Mwesigwa who is thrilled to enter into a hopeful partnership with a big club like URA.

“I am optimistic about the success of this collaboration. My talented and disciplined players, in such a setup, will benefit both parties,” Mwesigwa revealed.

“It’s been a long year's process, and I appreciate the club for welcoming us on board,” Mwesigwa expressed his gratitude to the Tax Collectors.

In the same breath, URA CEO Allan Munaaba believes the agreement is perfectly timed and aligns with the club’s plans towards achieving success.

“I’m glad we are aligning with our vision of nurturing talent for sustainable development, developing responsible citizens through education and sports, primarily football,” he said.
