- BUL 1-0 Vipers
BUL secured a hard fought 1-0 victory against Vipers in the Uganda Premier League at Namboole on Wednesday, May 1, 2024.
Jerome Kirya’s first-half strike was enough to earn the Jinja-based side maximum points hence completing a double against Vipers.
Vipers nearly took the lead inside five minutes but Fumador Asiwome’s touch from close range kissed the frame and well outside. BUL goalkeeper Tom Ikara had fumbled with Allan Okello’s effort but the Ghanaian forward went off target from point-blank range.
In the 15th minute, Alex Kitata forced Alfred Mudekereza into a big save as he fully stretched to thwart away the powerful effort.
Midway through the first stanza, Walter Ochora’s bouncing header off the corner kick went inches above the frame as the Jinja side kept growing into the game.

Jerome Kirya fired BUL ahead with an exciting touch off Kitata’s delivery and the stadium erupted in jubilations, chants and celebrations.
Though Vipers tried to respond before the break, BUL’s backline stood tall and firm to keep their lead intact going into the break.
Ten minutes into the second stanza, Vipers made a double change introducing Yunus Sentamu and Marvin Youngman for Asiwome and Frank Katongole.
BUL responded by introducing Martin Aprem for Reagan Kalyowa to bring on fresh legs upfront.

The victory guides BUL on top of the log with 49 points while Vipers remain third with 46 points having played a game less.
Next on the menu, BUL will visit Busoga United on Wednesday, May 8 while Vipers will host Express on the same day.
