Uganda will have five representatives from Ndejje Senior Secondary School, Maryhill High School, Ngora High School and King's College Budo at the International Mathematics Olympiad.

The International Mathematics Olympiad (IMO) Competitions are to be held in Chiba, Japan from the 6th to the 13th of July 2023.

Ndejje SS will be represented by Mr Medi Ssesanga (Deputy Team Leader), student Isaac Matsiko (Contestant) and Ms Karen Kebirungi.

Other students at the Olympiad will be Jonathan Benoni Mukalazi, Benjamin Patrick Ssemwezi, Timothy Muwanga, and Jonathan Ralph Felix Wandera.

The International Mathematical Olympiad is a mathematical olympiad for pre-university students and is the oldest of the International Science Olympiads.

It is one of the most prestigious mathematical competitions in the world. The first IMO was held in Romania in 1959. It has since been held annually, except in 1980.
