FUFA Super 8 – Result

  • BUL 0(6)-0(5) Vipers

BUL clinched their second FUFA Super 8 title after seeing off Vipers SC in a tight penalty shootout on Sunday at MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo.

The Jinja-based side held Vipers in a goalless draw in normal time before the game was extended to extra time where both teams fired blanks.

It’s a great achievement for Abbey Kikomeko’s charges, who became the first team to win the title back-to-back.

It was a thrilling encounter, both sides came close in normal time, but the two custodians guarded their nets superbly.

On the other hand, the Vipers were denied a chance to clinch their second, which they had won earlier after beating KCCA at Wankulukuku.

Lawrence Tezikya scored BUL’s winning penalty while Enock Luyima missed from the 12-yard mark to ensure the Eastern Giants walked away with the title.

In the third-place playoff match, Uganda Cranes secured a 2-0 victory against Kitara thanks to Henry Kitegenyi’s brace.
