NEC head coach Hussein Mbalangu has called upon his troops to remain consistent after a thrilling start to the 2024-25 Uganda Premier League campaign.

NEC secured a 1-0 victory against UPDF following well deserved wins against Vipers and NEC on match day one and two.

“I am very proud of what we are doing as a team and you can see the effort of every player,” Mbalangu revealed.

“Whatever we have done so far is according to plan because last season we were playing well but lacked consistency in the results,” he added,

“So this time round we are trying to improve that aspect of recording a series of victories which was impossible last year where we used to win one the later draw or lose.”

“It is good to enjoy the moment that we are winning games but we have to continue with that mentality and that is how you improve as team going forward,” he concluded.

The Lugogo-based side has greatly improved its squad creating the deserving depth that allows the technical team go for different dimensions of the game.

After finishing sixth in the previous season, NEC believe that they have all it takes to try and go all the way for the title.

They will return to action on Thursday, October as they visit Express at Hamz Stadium, Nakivubo as they seek to keep their winning streak alive.
