Newly promoted Uganda Premier League side Kitara FC has announced Frank Tumwesigye aka Zaga as their first signing in the ongoing transfer window.
Tumwesigye joins Kitara FC after being released by Vipers SC, a place he struggled to command playing time.
The transfer was made public on Monday, July 10 via the club's official website.
"Frank Tumwesigye is officially a Kitara FC player after agreeing to a year-long contract," the statement partly read.
"The exciting midfielder will don the Royals colours until July 2024 and Hoima will be his new home town," the statement added.
The transfer deal provides Zaga with yet another chance to prove to the football fraternity his worth after posting huge anticipation in his early days on the playground.
The midfielder welcomed the development of playing for Kitara since it's based in Hoima which doubles to be his home town.
"This is a special place for me, Hoima is home and I already feel welcomed here," Zaga was quoted by the website.
"I will give my best performance for sure and help my new team win games and also stay in the top flight," he added.
Kitara recently gained promotion to the top flight in May this year.
Under the tutelage of Brian Ssenyodo, the club chairman has already set the target of finishing fifth in the upcoming UPL season.
