Former Uganda Cranes captain will be part of the Mamelodi Sundowns that will take part of the FIFA World Cup tournament scheduled for June 2025 in the USA.
Sundowns (South Africa), Al Ahly (Egypt), Wydad Casablanca (Morocco) and Esperance (Tunisia) will be the four African teams to take part of the huge tournament.
Speaking about the milestone, Onyango expressed his excitement about the milestone.
"I feel very happy and blessed as the first Ugandan to play in two FIFA Club World Cup," Onyango told Daily Monitor.
"Being the first Ugandan to do so would be an incredible achievement, and looking at my age right now, I could not be prouder," he added.
"It's incredible for a young boy who came from the streets of Nsambya to become who I am and play at the highest level of football."
